The Hell's Angels biker gang's bunker in Sorel-Tracy, about 90 kilometres north of Montreal, was torched Saturday night, in what police said was one of two major, suspicious fires a few blocks apart.
Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Joyce Kemp would not confirm a media report that a vehicle was seen slamming into the bunker on Provost St. as the fire at that building started about 9:30 p.m.
Witnesses said a tanker truck rammed into the building and caused it to burst into flames, according to a TV news report.
About an hour earlier, a three-storey commercial and residential building near Hôtel Dieu Ave. and Fiset Blvd. caught fire.
It was not yet known if the fires were related, she said.
Firefighters from several surrounding communities and the Sûreté du Québec, who are also the local police in the community, were at the scene.
It was not known if there were any injuries, Kemp said.
