Gang confrontations could be on the cards for Nelson, say concerned police who believe a charity motorcycle ride held in the region at the weekend was a front for the launch of a new gang chapter.
Nelson Bays police area commander Inspector Brian McGurk said the charity "poker run", which saw more than 200 motorcyclists ride into Nelson on Friday night, was held to mark the establishment of the Red Devils gang in Nelson.
