Sunset clause on bikie crackdown

The New South Wales Government is putting a sunset clause on its new anti-bikie legislation, ensuring it will be reviewed in two years.

Premier Nathan Rees and his ministers met yesterday to discuss the new laws designed to outlaw bikie gangs, which will allow the NSW Crime Commission to strip gang members of their assets.

The laws, which may not come into effect until June, will make it illegal for gang members to associate with one another and could also prevent them from working as security guards or tow-truck drivers.
