New laws to ban outlaw motorcycle gangs are doomed to failure, a leading expert on gangs has said.Premier Anna Bligh yesterday announced Queensland would follow South Australia and NSW with legislation to outlaw motorcycle gangs in a bid to avoid the state becoming a haven for the criminal groups.
However, a University of Queensland organised crime expert, Dr Andreas Schloenhardt, has warned the government against adopting the measures, describing them as ill-conceived.
